Common questions

Evaporative Cooling questions we get asked

Can't see yours? Ring Sunny — you'll get a straight answer, not a sales pitch.

How much does an evaporative cooling service cost in Geelong?

A full pre-season service starts around $190. That covers a clean-out, pump and float test, bleed-off check and airflow test. Pads are separate — most units need them every five to eight years, and salt air on the peninsula shortens that.

When should I book the service?

September to November. Book before the first hot week and you get a choice of days; book during a heatwave and everyone in Geelong is calling at once.

Why is my evaporative cooler blowing warm air?

Nine times out of ten it's the pads not getting wet — a failed pump, a stuck float, a blocked distributor or pads that have hardened with mineral build-up. All of that is fixable in one visit. If the pads are wet and it's still warm, you likely have an airflow or ducting problem instead.

Is evaporative cooling any good near the coast?

It works well on hot, dry northerly days, which is when Bellarine homes actually get uncomfortable. On the muggy days after a change it's less effective, because the whole system relies on dry air. If you want guaranteed performance on every hot day, a reverse-cycle split is the better fit — we're happy to compare both for your house.

Should the cooler be shut down for winter?

Yes. Draining it and fitting a cover stops water sitting in the base, prevents corrosion, and keeps rain and vermin out of the ducting. It's a cheap visit that saves a much bigger one.

Do you repair all brands?

Yes — Bonaire, Braemar, Brivis, Celair and Coolair included, plus older units where parts are still available. If a unit is past economical repair we'll say so rather than sell you a repair that won't last.
