How much does split system installation cost in Geelong?
A standard back-to-back install starts around $750 if you supply the unit. Supply and install for a typical bedroom or living-room system usually lands between $1,800 and $2,900 depending on capacity and brand. Long pipe runs, upstairs installs and awkward outdoor unit placement add labour, and we tell you that up front rather than on the invoice.
What size split system do I need?
As a rough guide: 2.5kW for a bedroom up to 20m², 3.5kW for a room up to 30m², 5kW for an open-plan living area up to 45m², and 7–8kW beyond that. Coastal homes with big west-facing glass usually need a step up. We measure the room, check insulation and glazing, and size it properly — an undersized unit runs flat out and never gets there.
Do you install air conditioners I've bought myself?
Yes. Install-only is common — bring us the unit and we'll fit it, commission it and register the warranty. We'll tell you honestly before we start if the unit you've bought is the wrong size for the room.
Will a split system handle winter on the Bellarine?
A reverse-cycle split does both heating and cooling and is the cheapest way to heat a single room here. For a whole older home with existing ducting, gas ducted heating is usually still the better performer — we'll give you the honest comparison rather than pushing one option.
How often should aircon be serviced near the coast?
Yearly. Salt air off Port Phillip corrodes outdoor coils faster than inland, so a coil clean and drainage check each year materially extends the life of the unit — it's the single biggest factor in how long a system lasts in Portarlington, Indented Head or St Leonards.
How soon can you install?
