Common questions

Ductwork & Zoning questions we get asked

Can't see yours? Ring Sunny — you'll get a straight answer, not a sales pitch.

How do I know my ducts need repairing?

Weak airflow at the outlets furthest from the unit, rooms that never get warm while the heater runs constantly, whistling or roaring noises in the roof, or a heating bill that climbed without you changing anything. All four point at ductwork rather than the unit.

How much does duct repair cost in Geelong?

A single crushed or disconnected run is typically $180–$450 including the visit. A photographed roof-space inspection with airflow readings starts at $150, and we credit it if you go ahead with the repair.

Do rodents really damage ducting?

Constantly — it's one of the most common finds in older Geelong and Bellarine roof spaces. Chewed flexible duct leaks most of the heated air into the roof, and it also means you're pushing roof-space dust through the house.

Is it worth replacing old ductwork with a new heater?

Yes, and it's the mistake we see most. A new high-efficiency heater on 25-year-old uninsulated ducting will never deliver its rated output. We assess the ducts before quoting any changeover so the number you get is the number that actually fixes the problem.

What does zoning cost and is it worth it?

From around $950 depending on how many zones and whether the ducting layout suits it. On larger homes it pays for itself quickly — you stop heating bedrooms all evening and the living areas reach temperature faster.

Can you add an extra outlet to a room?

Usually yes, if the unit has the capacity and there's a sensible run available. If it doesn't, we'll tell you — adding an outlet to a maxed-out system just weakens every other room.
