How much is a gas ducted heating service in Geelong?
From $220 for a full service including a carbon monoxide test. That gets you a burner clean, gas pressure check, heat exchanger inspection, filter service and airflow test, with a written result you can keep for insurance or rental compliance.
How often does ducted heating need servicing?
Every two years for a newer unit, every year once it's past ten years old. Victorian gas heaters must be carbon monoxide tested by a licensed technician at least every two years — cracked heat exchangers are the real risk, and they give almost no warning.
Why is my ducted heater blowing cold air?
Usually a failed ignition sequence, a lockout after repeated attempts, a gas supply issue or an overheat cut-out caused by a blocked filter. Reset it once at the isolation switch; if it doesn't hold, stop forcing it and book a repair.
Repair or replace an old ducted heater?
Past about 15 years, a second major repair rarely makes sense — efficiency has dropped, parts are getting scarce and the heat exchanger is the part you don't gamble on. We give you the repair cost and the changeover cost side by side and let you decide.
Why are some rooms cold when the heater works fine?
That's an airflow problem, not a heater problem. Crushed, disconnected or rodent-damaged ducting in the roof space is extremely common in older Bellarine and Geelong homes. We inspect the ductwork and balance the airflow rather than replacing a heater that was never the fault.
